Midlothian Junior Golf Opportunities

Ever wondered how to get your child in to Golf?

Junior Golf Opportunities

Prior to the pandemic, it would be normal circumstances during February and March for primary school aged pupils to be given a golf taster opportunity during school hours, which was formally known as ClubGolf.  Local high schools would also have promoted some competitive golf fixtures, encouraging a friendly rivalry which would run throughout the academic year.

As these opportunities have not been possible over the past two years, Active Schools wanted to let parents and schools know that we are still working closely with local Golf Clubs and Scottish Golf  to encourage Junior Golf opportunities.

It has been a challenging time for all involved in sport, with Golf being one of few sports that have seen a general increase in memberships, with the number of  juniors attending a club setting increasing also.

Nonetheless, a number of Golf Clubs are still promoting junior golf coaching and fixtures and are encouraging parents/carers to contact the clubs directly to find out what is available.  Some Clubs, due to a variety of challenges, may not be offering sessions at this time – please make contact to find out more.
