The Active Schools Newbattle Primary programme offers a wide range of activities and sports for all P1-P7 pupils.  Football, rugby, basketball, athletics, judo, tennis and street dance are just some of the sports and activities pupils can participate in throughout the year, all delivered by qualified coaches in a fun and safe environment.

As part of the Newbattle Community Sports Hub, Active Schools work closely with the local sports clubs to help build pathways for the primary pupils to continue to participate in their sport out with the school environment.

Newbattle Community High School Active Schools offers a wide range of sports and physical activities to students from S1-S6.  Football, rugby, dance, swimming, netball and basketball are just some of the activities students can participate in, whether at competitive levels or just for fun, there is something for everyone.

Newbattle Community High School is the base for the Newbattle Sports Hub, working closely with our community partners to develop pathways and opportunities for students to continue playing sport beyond their school years.

Our wide range of extracurricular offerings is possible due to the time and commitment from the PE staff and coaches. To help build on our programme further, people with a keen interest in sport and coaching are welcome to join our network of volunteers.  Please contact the active schools coordinator for further details.

To help provide quality activities in the Newbattle area, we rely on volunteers to be part of the active schools programme. If you would like to volunteer for Active Schools in the Newbattle area, please contact

Newbattle Area Coordinators:  Kate Murray, Jenny Potts & Carolyn Cameron

We provide the opportunity for children to obtain lifelong participation in sport so make your start with Active Schools!
