Sport Leadership pupils volunteer at local primary schools!
Lasswade High School has embarked on a comprehensive sports training programme for their new S5/S6 leadership pupils. In partnership with Active Schools and Sports Development, the PE dept at Lasswade HS have worked hard to put together a range of courses for the pupils to allow them to gain some excellent leadership skills and qualifications.
These students have recently had a chance to try out their new skills by volunteering time to deliver multi-sport sessions within the local primary schools. This gave primary school pupils a free opportunity to try out fun sport sessions after school in a school setting with their friends.
The leadership pupils did a fantastic job of delivering enjoyable multi-sport activities such as golf and ball games. We hope to continue this programme of training at Lasswade High School and put on transition clubs within the high school for P6/7. The senior pupils are looking forward to upcoming courses; Rugby, American Football and Hockey.
