Active Schools Leadership Academy
Academy Structure
- The purpose of the Active Schools Leadership Academy is to develop leadership experience and employability to aspiring young people.
- Participants will be asked to commit to a full calendar of training/workshops. All training will be delivered from a neutral venue and will take place after school on a Friday or a Saturday morning.
- Pupils will also undertake a placement assisting with sport within a school or sport centre setting for an agreed period. All training & placements will be co-ordinated and supported by Active Schools.
How will you benefit?
- The academy is designed to help participants develop: confidence, leadership, communication, problem solving, organizational and team work skills.
- You will have the guidance of experienced mentors who will be able to support you during the coaching placement
- The academy provides qualifications which will help towards higher education opportunities and career pathways into sport.
- Practical experience delivering sport sessions to primary aged pupils – displaying and developing leadership skills
- Possible employment opportunities or further development upon academy completion
