Midlothian Primary Schools Athletics Championships!

Primary pupils shine at Athletics Champs!

Active Schools were delighted to host the Primary Athletics Championships 2023!

18 primary schools from across Midlothian participated in the 2 events held at the Dalkeith Campus Athletics Track.  Pupils took part in sprints, team relays, shot putt and long jump events.

We also had a separate fun Tug of War event for school teams.

The event was ran by Active Schools and the fantastic team of officials and volunteers from Lasswade Athletics Club.  We also had great support from Edinburgh College students, as part of our partnership work with further education.

We had many brilliant individual medal winners, and all athletes scored points for their school which went towards the team totals and their chance to win the Championship Trophy.

The results were as follows:

Large Schools event - Armstrong Cup Trophy:

1^st Place:  Hawthornden Primary

2^nd Place: Lasswade Primary

3^rd Place:  Cornbank Primary

Small Schools event – Headmaster’s Trophy:

1^st Place:  St David’s Primary

2^nd Place: Sacred Heart Primary

3^rd Place:  Stobhill Primary
