Kings Park Hockey Festival 11th November 2014

Active Schools Hockey Festival (Kings Park Astroturf)

Lasswade Primary

Venue: Kings Park Astroturf   11/11/15

First of all I would like to say a massive thank you and well done to all the teams that participated in the hockey festival on the 11th of November over at the Kings Park Astroturf. The weather was on our side and the competition managed to run for the duration on the outdoor Astroturf & makeshift 2nd grass pitch (Due to the 2nd astro pitch being out of use due to autumn coverage.)

The format followed a traditional round robin format with each of the teams playing each other once. There was a great level of hockey on display throughout the competition from all the school. The final standings for the festival are as follows.

The final standings are as follows:

1st

Lasswade A

5th

Kings Park   B

2nd

Lasswade B

6th

Woodburn B

3rd

Woodburn A

7th

Newtongrange   A

4th

Newtongrange   B

8th

Kings Park   A

There was a hard fought battle between two Lasswade teams with the game between the two teams being crucial.

A special mention should go to the school teachers and support staff that brought the children to the event. I’m sure the walk back to school for Lasswade would have been worth it after finishing in the top slots.

I would like to also say a massive thank you to all the volunteers and helpers that helped make the Hockey festival such a great success.
