What is ASLA Academy…?
- The Active Schools Leadership Academy is designed to help young people develop their experience, skills & knowledge through sporting delivery.
- Working amongst others, pupils will grow their understanding on how best to develop communication, organisation, planning and problem-solving skills.
- Through training and delivery placement, Active Schools Midlothian can provide the support you need to become a leader!
How do I get involved…?
When does it take place…?
- Participants will be asked to commit to a full calendar of training/workshops. All training will be delivered from a neutral venue and will take place after school on a Friday.
- Training & Placements happen at the same time with the course being tailored to your availability/suitability
- Delivery placements can take place in local primary schools or within high school.
How will you benefit?
- The academy is designed to help participants develop: confidence, leadership, communication, problem solving, organizational and team work skills.
- You will have the guidance of experienced mentors who will be able to support you during the coaching placement
- The academy provides qualifications which will help towards higher education opportunities and career pathways into sport.
- Practical experience delivering sport sessions to primary aged pupils – displaying and developing leadership skills
- Possible employment opportunities or further development upon academy completion
