We’re delighted to see the hard work of our Active Schools volunteer, Wendy Dolik, recognised by sportscotland!
Wendy has been volunteering in the Dalkeith area, delivering Yoga, Tennis and Athletics sessions to pupils at King’s Park and Tynewater primary schools.
Wendy got involved in volunteering with Active Schools: “Since my kids have started school I’ve noticed that schools can only go so far in providing access to different sports/activities. Volunteers (teachers, parents) step in to fill that gap and I thought I could help… volunteers inspired me to become a volunteer.”
She really believes in getting pupils active and the health benefits it brings.
Wendy has also supported a new volunteer to develop their skills in leading sessions.
Her sessions are always very fun and engaging and she is a fantastic asset to the Active Schools programme in Midlothian!
