About the Passport

Passport Extended Image

The Midlothian Commonwealth Passport was launched at the Primary School Athletics Championships on Tuesday 4th June to celebrate the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games.

From 1st July 2013 to 16 May 2014 (has been extended), the Passport Scheme will aim to encourage as many young people as possible to get active  and enjoy a range of Commonwealth Sports.  We have also included some of our target sports so there are Olympic and Winter Olympic sports on the passport too.

Children in P4 –P7 taking part will be awarded points for each sport they try.  At the end of the programme, Certificates or Commonwealth style bronze, silver or gold medals will be presented at special school assemblies.

Gold medal winners will also be entered into a draw to win a pair of adult and child tickets for either the opening or closing ceremony.

A full programme of activities is available for children to take part in.  They may already be involved in some of these activities, but hopefully there will also be new activities for them to try. We are linking with local clubs for many of these opportunities so some sports will only be available at the clubs home venue but there should be enough opportunities in your area to gather lots of points.

Click the PASSPORT tab on the main menu to see a list of all the opportunities available and and if you have lost your passport you can download a new one below.

Remember, POINTS MAKE PRIZES and there are medals to be won!
